A skilled team of physical, speech and occupational therapists evaluates the needs of each resident and, in conjunction with the resident’s family and attending Physician, designs an outcome-oriented treatment program.
Physical Therapy – The goal of physical therapy is to achieve the Resident’s Highest level of functional independence with general mobility. Our high paced program utilizes innovative equipment and therapist’s expertise and the use of various therapeutic interventions including the latest bio-physical modalities such as ultrasound, diathermy/electromagnetic therapy and electrical stimulation and machines for the highest quality of life.
Occupational Therapy – Occupational therapists utilize appropriate modalities to increase strength, range of motion, and appropriate utilization of adaptive equipment for independence in activities of daily living such as dressing and hygiene.
Speech Therapy – Speech therapists address the needs of residents suffering from speech and swallowing disorders. Cognitive training is utilized to improve skills such as memory, reasoning, and judgment. Our dysphasia program allows clients to achieve the appropriate diet.
Respiratory Therapy – Respiratory care practitioners are the cardiopulmonary specialists of our team. They ensure that our residents with heart and lung problems are treated per physician orders.
Sub-Acute Unit
Our 36 bed Sub-acute unit offers care to the patients who no longer require hospital acute care but require more intensive licensed skilled nursing care. Our unit accepts tracheostomy, ventilator dependent residents, acute stroke, and patients for rehabilitation.
Our dedicated interdisciplinary team provides comprehensive, compassionate care that considers the individual needs of every patient. We pride ourselves in offering a warm and spiritually fulfilling environment.
Behavioral Unit
Colonial Care Center’s 75 bed secured unit provides specialized care to seniors with Alzheimer’s disease or other memory disorders.

Activities
Residents are encouraged to participate in a wide range of activities planned by a Professional activities director. Our programs are individualized to meet the needs of our customers. Activities, scheduled seven days a week, include:

Dining
To promote a sense of community, residents are encouraged to eat in the facility dining room. Residents who wish to remain in their rooms during meals or who must do so because of illness receive in-room meal service. For special occasions, private dining is provided in the family dining room.
All diets are based on physicians’ orders and are supervised by a registered dietician. A selective menu has been designated to meet the nutritional needs and provide a variety of delicious meal choices.
